Comment: PLEASE RECYCLE PERFECTLY GOOD THINGS! WHAT YOU CANT USE, SOMEONE ELSE PROBABLY CAN! And this is a righteous place to do it. Read on.Most important is the donation center. Unlike other popular thrift stores, I understand that the Salvation Army recycles rather than tosses. So clean old clothes that are beyond saving dont get trashed. And that is very important! To verify this I asked an attendant if theyd take clean rags and he said yes.I very much miss the kiosks that used to be around town in which to leave things. I recently got an answer as to why they disappeared: Since 9-11 there is a fear that bombs or the like might be left inside. This is not an official answer (just a guy on the bus) but it makes sense. It is a shame as drop-off is inconvenient--especially if you dont live in the area. (Sadly, Ive been unable to find a charity thrift store in Highland Park.) As a result, Ive become somewhat of a dumpster diver as bags of clean clothes can often be found in our apartments trash bin. I rescue them, check them out and take bags to the Salvation Army for proper distribution. (Old blankets should go to Blankets of Love for shelter animals, but thats another review.)The store is far from pretty, but thats part of the attraction. Rummage around for all sorts of goods, many at truly bargain prices (the staff that does pricing sometimes gets it wrong, but most of the time its good). This is a big store and is everything a proper thrift store should be.

Comment: This review is for donating. Im not a thrift store buyer but I love to donate. The guys that work there are helpful and the receipts are easy to fill out and get there. They will take almost anything even if theres a dent which is cool. Thats what repurposing is for. Do I agree with their politics? I cant say that I do, but its by my home and they do something with the stuff that I can no longer use. Thats enough for me. I dont have time for that...politics crap

Comment: They dont care about sorting the products, so basically everything costs from $1-$10, so you can find really really good deals. Its a bit of a search through piles but its manageable. Honestly some shoppers are a bit shady (youll occasionally see people casually shop lift and the cashiers not really care), and you will get the mom with 4 little kids running a mess through the you section. Overall, worth a look.
