Comment: If you like treasure hunting, this is the thrift store to come to. I like vintage things and mid century items. Ive found fabulous Japanese drip-glaze mugs from the 70s. Ive seen vintage onyx horse head book ends but didnt buy them. (Too pricey). However, I did buy the early 2000s Bratz dolls sitting in a random basket. Recently I bought a camel bone and brass carved jewelry box. Treasures I tell you! Peruse the books and records as well. There are always new items and so much to see.

Comment: I like going to The Cousil Shop as I have retrieved some great bargains. I get great womens clothing for a reasonable thrifty price. I am furnishing my apartment with items I bought for a steal of a deal. I bought a dresser and matching computer/TV table**. I am completely satisfied with all my purchases.

Comment: Neat store with fair prices and good service! Theyve done their research and know what they have. Purchased an 11-piece Edward Knowles creamed soup cup set for $20. The man at the front was so knowledgeable and kind. He asked if I saw the matching saucers (I hadnt). He walked over with me and knew exactly where they wouldve been. He kept hunting for them even though he and another associate were trying to deal with a difficult customer. At check-out, he wrapped each cup in its own little padded slip (hey I wouldve been fine with just newspaper). That shows real CARE and customer service! I will be making Council Thrift in CPark a regular stop.

Comment: Found things i liked, but didnt buy them because NO FITTING ROOM! Very important to try things on before buying them. They said 3 day return policy, but i dont live in the area so thats not an option for me. Staff seemed friendly.

Comment: The National Council of Jewish Women Thrift Shop on Sherman Way Just west of Owens mouth is one of the best Thrift Shop I have ever gone into. It has been in Canoga Park for over 20 years and has consistently provided people with superior merchandise. The facility is large and spacious which allows for much variety and sufficient space for the full display of ‘stuff’ from art to xylophones and vases to encyclopedias, paintings to lithographs. All of which I have seen there and purchased quite a few.More importantly, the staff there from Anna, to Claire to Francisco to Leticia to Martha to Sean are eager to assist whether to take down a painting from high up on the walls or to show full drawers of jewelry, sterling to 14 karat and costume to historical. These are people who greet you with a smile and even those who deserve a frown are still treated with kindness.And for those who bring donations, the National Council is known throughout the Valley as giving the most po$$itive amounts for your ‘previously owned’ items.So whether giving or taking out, the National Council of Jewish Women Thrift Shop on Sherman Way west of Owens mouth is the best.
