Comment: Best thrift shop in Monterey. These folks have so much cool stuff, because theyre trusted in the community and people make donations to their cause. Great relics, full supply of basic household goods, great price is period everything you want from a second hand store. The opening and closing times are confusing, so I wouldnt suggest going the first hour or last hour of the day unless youve checked the schedule.

Comment: The staff is very friendly and willing to help you find what you need.It has many things, it is not very big but the size of the establishment is perfect. The prices are very reasonable and accessible, plus they have a color discount of 60% 50% 40% and more.They also give you coupons for your next purchase and they have another second store but it is not yet on google maps.They have an online store which I have not reviewed but I hope the experience is good.

My husband and I both enjoy shopping here and we appreciate the kind people who work here. This is a large store that is packed with a wide variety of treasures to find. Furniture, collectibles, clothing, shoes, jewelry, household items, books, CDs, movies, sewing supplies, craft items, games, and toys are just some of the categories you will find here. We never leave this store empty handed. The store has items priced with different colored tags with varying percentages discounted off the marked price. The color tags and percentages off change weekly. There is even a bargain rack of deeply discounted clothing. We will definitely shop at and support Second Chance Thrift Store any time we are in the area.

Comment: Ive been thrift shopping many many times and often Goodwill was my go to probably because its the most common but since moving to Monterey Ive found that Second Chance is much much better. They have good prices already but they also have a color coded discount system too AND you can sign up for rewards! They are also always handing out 20% off coupons too! I believe the colors rotate but for example it might be: Yellow full price, Orange 10% off, Blue 20% off, Green 30% off, White 40% off, and so forth up to 50 or 60% off. They also have sales sometimes where clothes are $1 each. They also just have a good amount of stuff too so theres lots of potential for whatever youre looking for. The people are very nice too. It is a benefit shop for a church so there is christian music playing constantly but you can always tune it out if that isnt for you. Anyways, happy treasure hunting!! Definitely recommend checking out Second Chance!

Comment: This is a smaller thrift store it is a faith-based thrift store that is connected with a cavalry Church in Monterey county the people in the staff there some are part of a very good program that helps men with substance abuse and alcohol problems if you want to find some great bargains and some really nice quality stuff the prices may be a little bit higher than a normal thrift store but what youre paying for is for these men to change their lives and is well worth the extra dollar for quality item the store is smaller however the quality of stuff that you find in it may be a little bit higher than a non 501 3C tax exempt corporation such as Goodwill that is a corporation and not a thrift store like this one

Comment: They sometimes have really good stuff, the prices are strange, to me. Some stuff is way high priced for what it is, and other really valuable stuff is cheap. They are the only rehab I know of in Monterey that takes broke, broken people off the street and helps them get out of whatever they have dug themselves into. I know some people who have gotten help there, it doesn’t always take but they try. So at least you know where the money is going. Not really competitive with Goodwill.

Everyone was very pleasant but when looking through the store it seemed a bit cluttered.
