Comment: This is a fun store to go to. You can browse the used and new items forever. Its a little harder to search for specific titles, because so many DVD and CD titles are on sale for between $1-$4 and everything in those bins seem to be in no particular order. You just have to flip through everything and hope you find what you are looking for. If you are willing to spend more, the non sales sections are sorted much better and its easier to find what you are looking for. Employees are friendly. I bring used DVDs and CDs in there to sell, but always end up leaving with more new purchases than I brought in to sell to them.

Comment: Saw this place driving by and wanted to stop in, so glad I did! They have so much cool stuff. We walked around for an hour. I can only comment on the clothes section, they have tons of cute boho, vintage, retro clothes. Its sorted really fun, like flannels, sports, graphic tees, denim, not just long sleeve/short sleeve. They have new clothes if youre into that and used clothing if youre into helping reduce textile waste, keeping the landfills down, not supporting fast fashion, recycling fabrics, being good to the planet and supporting businesses that agree 😅 staff was also nice, plus Im digging my Mad Monk bag Im reusing as a recycling bag for my bathroom 🙌🏼

Comment: A HUGE selection of assorted items from clothes, books, movies, and music while I found the videogame section to be lacking, it didnt deter me from loving Mad Monks in the slightest. The staff is super friendly I had a 3 shopping cats full of items and the cashier took it as a personal challenge rather than sighing in disgust. I am definitely going there again as that place has become a permanent fixture in my small places that reside in my heart (as well as my wallet).

Comment: I was happy when Rasputin originally opened at the Dale Road location, but feared the worst when the store was full of boxes of merchandise being packed up. Thankfully it was because they were moving into this ENORMOUS location nearby. My first time entering the store, I’m not embarrassed to say I cried tears of joy. With how many music stores are shutting down everywhere, I assumed Modesto would never again have a music store with a large selection, but not only did we get one, but we got a HUGE one!! I had grown accustomed to only having a dozen or less opportunities a year to be able to actually browse a store and hunt for elusive records only on the rare occasions when I was either in the Bay Area or in Southern California, was nearby a shop, and also had the time to be able to do so. Since most often I’d be in the area specifically for work, and a store could be within walking distance, time rarely was available. I might have the opportunity to actually go inside a store once for every 15 times I drove right passed it. Hence why I had such an emotional moment when I entered this location for the first time and realized just how big it really was and that It didn’t require a two hour+ drive to get there. Probably 15 minutes if traffic is moderate. While I have far more frequent opportunities to be in a real music store, each visit is still no less special. It’s still sacred ground to me and I savor every trip. The only negative with having more opportunities is having less time to save between visits and it’s common that I have to put back a couple MUST OWN finds that I simply don’t have enough to afford and just hope it will still be there when I do get enough. Spoiler: NOPE! They always get snagged by someone else before then.. It’s the best problem to be blessed with in this world so devoid of these stores.

Comment: I found this rasputins by accident.this is a very good rasputins.staff greets you andare helpull and courteous.and what an amazing selection just the way a rasputins use to be.i have to travel to get there but its worth it.i like the older classic movies.karloff lugosi.and bowery boys.i can spend hours in there shopping then see something i missed and really found out i came for.hope you guys will be around for a long time..thankyou..

Comment: So went here because the one in Stockton closed. I personally love all Rasputins I go to all of them because its a great place to relax wire down and search for new and old tracks or movies and it has so many good deals.ive bought 40 movies once and only spent 15$ every month is a new deal so keep your eyes open sometimes 10 cents for CDs,25 cents for a movie definitely worth it

Comment: Record Store Day. Line outside waiting for doors to open. About 50 to 75 by opening bell. Very orderly. Your place in line got first pick of new titles. Had nice selection and multiple copies of most popular titles. Check out was quick and painless. Prices were reasonable for most titles.

Out of the many times I have purchased used movies for less then $5, I have not yet ran into one that did not work. The team at Rasputin also cares for their customers, very friendly and helpful.

Comment: This place is fun. Whenever Im in this part of Modesto I come inside and see what I can find. I dont really purchase Music here, I purchase collectable horror bluray here. They have a really strong selection of horror films. If you know what you want this place can be cheap and Ive scored some good finds for whaaaaaay less than retail value. But sometimes itll be more expensive depending on the quality or item you look for. So even though you find your item keep looking on the shelf for a cheaper copy. They will most likely have it.

Comment: When Amazon takes too long go to this store for your music, videos and a small collection of games. The main focus is videos with a great assortment of tv shows as well. Its a bit organized weird by genre then alphabetized but you can still find everything. Once you go and find that odd random movie you will come back often to find what you want.

Nothing is better when youre completely needing to unplug to go to a music store and flip through the records or CDs whatever. And you combine a video store as well? Its win / win. They have amazing deals to get multiple DVDs for cheap and speaking of cheap a lot of their back section of movies were amazingly cheap. This is a great place and I always come back at least once a month (or more) to see what new additions they have! Recommend this to any music/TV lovers!

Comment: They have a great selection of CDs, and also a good amount of vinyl. Last time I went, I was pleasantly surprised by a few albums they had, as in Wow, I cant believe they have an album by this band... Their used prices are very reasonable and I will definitely be going back in the future.
