Comment: I have been a fan of thrift stores since first started buying my own clothes. Something Ive learned is that its best to shop at thrift stores in communities that are more affluent than neighborhoods that have less money. This afternoon we stopped by San Rafael (an affluent area) to pick up some lunch. My partner pointed to a thrift store that was across the street from the restaurant, and said, theres a good thrift store, (he had passed it by before, and noted that it probably had some really good stuff. That store was Hodgepodge, and he was correct. They have really nice items, that they sell for very reasonable prices. The volunteers there know how to create beautiful displays, too.I was looking for a pair of bell bottom pants, but couldnt find any--darn. I also had to promise myself that I wasnt going to buy anything besides bellbottoms (because my house is already FULL).I LOVE this thrift store!!! They offer really nice items (some very unique) for reasonable prices. The staff was both friendly and helpful. And the proceeds go to help with hospice care in Marin County.

Comment: This is a very clean, well run, well kept thrift store for a good cause. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the employees and the merchandise offerings. Changing discounts offerings keep me checking in regularly. Examples in last two years: vintage cast-iron (Wagner #10) pan in very good condition for $20. This sells for $100 plus online. Bought a vintage solid mahogany/teak 4 drawer desk for $120, needed refinishing but is now beautiful !! Half dozen same size/owner unworn 100% cotton button down dress shirts for $12 each.

Comment: Quality stock and I find something I need on every visit. Cant understand complaints about high prices. Goodwill is comparable and salvation army is higher, but neither of those have the quality if goods. Its a good thing traffic and parking dissuade me from too many trips or Id be bringing stuff home every other day.

Comment: I had previously rated this place one star due to what I felt was an unwelcoming atmosphere, but I feel it deserves an upgrade! I decided to give it another go two or three times in the past few months, and the staff have been pleasant and helpful. Prefer it to the Goodwill down the street now, and what a great cause to support. Keep up the great work!

Comment: Parking near the east end of San Rafael anywhere near 4th St is a bit of a pain or Id come here more often. Hidden gems in this little thrift shop and it supports Hospice care which is a great cause. I always walk away with something, just to contribute.

Comment: I have been shopping here for years, I find the staff friendly and helpful. I also love the idea of the money going to Hospice, and as a 22 year survivor of Breast Cancer. I didnt need them, but have seen them take the best care of friends with cancer.
